Local BlackBerry Developers and non-BlackBerry Developers are gathering for a casual, social get-togeather in a great venue in the Byward Market.
Ottawa is a hotbed of BlackBerry development. Java, WebWorks/HTML5, C/C++ -- whatever your flavour, there's lots of local devs that are actively working on the BlackBerry platform. We all love to talk about what we're up to and help other people solve problems they are having or make suggestions on new, great ways to take full advantage of the platform.

About the Presentation Topic:
Cascades is a new UI framework that RIM has created for the BB10 platform. It provides a visually appealing and easy to use set of components for creating great UIs... or so goes the marketing message ;)
Every UI framework has it's quirks and after playing with the components for about 6 weeks, Phil Belanger has learned some of the "oh, if I knew that when I started THAT would have been easier..." things that can help save you time and frustration. Don't miss this opportunity to save yourself the same headaches, or, if you have had experience as well, come share with everyone else as well.
